How to Create the Chanel Runway Metallic Eye

In a futuristic runway show on a galaxy far far away, Karl Lagerfeld centered his Spring/Summer 2013 Chanel show around the the idea of wind and energy, featuring working turbines up and down the runway and bold silver eye shadow that gave the illusion of solar panels. To achieve the show’s standout looks, it seems that grape size pearls are the accessory to be had, whether they sat heavily in a thick necklace protecting each model’s neck or were placed chicly as decorative details on a boucle coat. Also popular were structured silhouettes, metallic threading, and of course, the “what in the world” moment of the show, the infamous hula hoop Chanel bag. As for the makeup, beauty expert Emily Loftiss gives us the how to in this video tutorial. It seems the the keys to achieving the standout metallic eyes featured at the Chanel show lie in expert blending and proper lining, not to mention the amazing usefulness of a chubby pencil. Unlike the warmth of the golds and bronzes we’re used to seeing for spring and summer eye makeup, silver is a more dramatic, standout look that makes for peepers that really pop in the evening. To keep the high shine eyes theĀ focal point, Loftiss finishes the look with natural looking, luminous skin and nude lips. Will you be trying this makeup trend as the weather gets warmer?
