How-To--Summer-Glow

Calling all goddesses! There is nothing sexier for summer than a bronzed, luminous complexion. But you don’t have to be naturally tan to rock a beautiful summer glow. Feel free to fake it till you make it with bronzer, blush, and a highlighter. This summer look tutorial will show you how to glow like J.Lo in 5 easy steps:

Step 1: Exfoliate

A glowing complexion starts with your skin. Make sure to exfoliate thoroughly to remove any dead skin cells and alleviate dry patches.

Step 2: Moisturize and Correct

After exfoliating, it’s important to moisturize. Soften your skin with a moisturizer that contains SPF before applying any face makeup. Next, skip the full-coverage foundation and apply something more sheer, using your fingers or a beauty sponge to help even out your coverage. You can kill two birds with one stone and opt for a tinted moisturizer or BB cream, or get your DIY on by mixing a small amount of foundation with your moisturizer to create your own tinted cream.

Step 3: Eyes

Your skin is the focus of this look, so go for minimal eye makeup. Apply a golden shade as a wash all over your lids. If you want more definition, sweep a darker matte brown to the lash line and a bit into the crease. Highlight the inner corners of your eyes with a champagne shade, and then add some mascara.

Step 4: Get Your Glow On

This is the step where all the magic happens. Sweep your bronzer at the hollows of your cheeks, the outer temple of your forehead, and a bit on the jawline. Think of the motion as a “3” or “E” on the sides of your face. If your bronzer has shimmer, try to use a light hand to avoid too much sparkle.

Next, add highlighter to the highest points of your face: your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, your chin, and a tiny amount on your cupids bow. When highlighting, remember a little goes a long way—too much product and you could start to resemble a disco ball.

For the final touch, add some color to your cheeks with a blush in pink, peach, or coral. Sweep this shade onto the apples of your cheeks, and remember to blend!

Step 5: Lips

No lipstick is necessary for this look. Simply moisturize with a lip balm and dab a neutral colored lip-gloss or tinted lip tint to your pout.
