How to Still Be Stylish in Sneakers

By  November 27, 2012

Sneakers are typically considered the utmost casual footwear, but they’re so darn comfy we want to wear them all the time! While some events are just too fancy shmancy to rock the tennies, with proper styling and design choices, there are indeed times they can be worn outside the gym. Leave the regular sneakers and running shoes for the workout room and try a more contemporary pair. Femguide suggests a sporty pair of oxfords. “With fun colors and patterns, they look like true accessories and not just shoes,” Femguide says. Check out more of their tips on wearing sneakers with style here.

If you’re feeling especially daring, don a pair of trendy high top sneakers this winter. Isabel Marant popularized the style with a line of super hot versions worn by celebrities from Anne Hathaway to Dakota Fanning this past year. Retailing for upwards of $500, they’re not for the savvy shopper, but not to fret; Target just created their own version of the popular shoe at a much more affordable price! Wear them with faux leather leggings, an oversized top, and chunky bangles for extra edge.

Take things to an even higher level and try wedged high top sneakers. We love they give us the flattering lift of a heel without the discomfort. Wear them with skinnies or even a chiffon skirt for a touch of unexpected daintiness. Check out these bold picks to try from Fashion Trend Seeker.
