Apple, a company that reportedly promotes from within, brought in Yves Saint Laurent Group chief executive officer Paul Deneve, sparking rumors that the iPhone-maker could have some sort of wearable collection in the works.
There hasn’t been news one way or the other out of the Cupertino headquarters but officially, the company is saying that, “He’ll be working on special projects as a vice president reporting directly to Tim Cook,” a statement read according to the Business of Fashion. “We’re thrilled to welcome Paul Deneve to Apple.”
Deneve worked with Apple in the 90s in Europe and was also the CEO of Lanvin and Nina Rucci. YSL’s CEO isn’t the only fashion executive Apple has imported. J.Crew executive Mickey Dexler is on the company’s board.
Perhaps this is Apple’s answer to Google glasses? Vogue UK is reporting that an iWatch might be in the works.
We shall see!
