Issa Ups the Ante and Collaborates with Banana Republic

By  April 12, 2013

Big news! London-based brand Issa is crossing the pond and heading straight for Banana Republic. The line earned major attention when Kate Middleton wore a royal blue wrap at St. James Place when her engagement to Prince William was announced in 2010—though the expectant mother has been spotted out in the brand dating back to 2007. Now, we can feel like royalty in Issa, too! Daniella Halayel, the designer, worked with Banana Republic to produce a 40-piece collection launching August 6th to be carried in more than 450 stores here in the U.S. and 700 stores globally, Women’s Wear Daily reported.

“We always love animal prints such as zebra and giraffe stripes,” said Simon Kneen, Banana Republic’s creative director and executive vice president of design. “Issa took that and modernized it. I love that the collection is our world and their world.” Expect to see kimono, wrap-tie, and pleated dresses in a variety of prints and solids with African inspired accessories like gold nuggets, cord necklaces and envelope clutches and patterns scarves. Prices range from $39 to $150, making this a collection you’re going to need to scoop up all of, immediately.

We can’t wait to see how the Duchess of Cambridge wears this collection, because, given her relationship with the brand, we’re pretty positive she will.
