First came the pleated handbag, then came glitter-coated footwear and next came geometric shades. Since its birth in 1993, Miu Miu has been churning out fashions that are equal parts eclectic, feminine, classic, and modern and now, the brand is attempting to squeeze all of those things into one small glass bottle.
That’s right, just as we suspected, the Prada Group inked a deal with Coty Inc. to produce fragrances under the Italian fashion house’s Miu Miu brand. With fragrance as a clear next step in the brand’s development, Patrizio Bertelli, CEO of the Prada Group is confident in the new partnership. “I am therefore sure that, leveraging on Coty’s know-how and Miu Miu’s strong identity, this partnership will be a worldwide success of mutual satisfaction to both companies,” said Bertelli.
As the next big fashion name entering the beauty realm, we have plenty of confidence in Miu Miu’s fragrance endeavor. By 2015, we’re hoping to see a fresh scent that’s girly yet sophisticated enough to bear the brand’s name – as well as packaging with sparkles on it.
