Perhaps we will start to see Michelle Obama in Hugo Boss? It’s a definite possibility, now that Jason Wu—the designer of both of the First Lady’s Inauguration gowns—was just named the new artistic director of Hugo Boss womenswear!
The 30-year-old designer founded his own label in 2007, which he will continue to work on while overseeing the Hugo Boss team at their studio in Metzingen, Germany, and will open another studio for the brand in New York.
“With the state-of-the-art facilities that are unique to the Hugo boss design labs, I plan to develop a strong, feminine womenswear collection that reciprocates the brand’s authority in menswear,” Wu said. We’ll get our first peek what Wu creates when he shows his pre-Fall 2014 Boss collection during New York Fashion Week next February.
Designing for first ladies, sold-out Target collections, and now a new role at Hugo Boss; Wu has certainly wooed the fashion set, wouldn’t you say?
