Joe Mimran Brings a “Fresh” Flagship to Fifth Ave.

By  April 05, 2012

On the corner of Manhattan’s 43rd Street and Fifth Avenue rests fashion’s latest triumphant — and tangerine — import: a Joe Fresh flagship. The Canadian chain, known for its stylish clothing that pops (literally), has three stateside stores, and now, a double-decker flagship, whose opening last week was feted with spicy cocktails and price tags that made our hearts melt.

Joe Mimran — perhaps the most important man in Canadian fashion, the force behind Club Monaco, and the husband of Pink Tartan designer Kimberley Newport-Mimran — gave a welcoming speech at the opening of the affordable clothing behemoth, wearing a pop of orange, of course. Attendees included supermodel Jessica Stam, brunette and preen in a pleated number from Chloé, and New York City mayor, Michael Bloomberg. Aside from the inaugural “Fresh Spice” cocktail, $100 gift card giveaways, and the amazing redesign of the 1954 Manufacturers Trust Company Building space, what was really cause for celebration was the prices for a piece of Joe Fresh.

Skinnies covered the entire color spectrum ran and fit like a glove. There were classic men’s polos, silk tops, hooded anoraks, contrast wedges, nail polishes, face palettes, and just about every piece of merchandise to perk you up for spring. And these weren’t any grand opening specials or price-cut previews: Joe Fresh keeps it cool, and cheap, year round. Don’t take our word for it, log on for your very own orange overload.
