Ask and you shall receive. While Justin Timberlake has been relatively quiet on the music front over the past few years, he’s making up for it and has confirmed a new collaboration with Mumford & Sons singer Marcus Mumford in an interview with UK radio station Captial FM. The two musicians have recorded a track together for the new Coen brothers film Inside Llewyn Davis, which is expected to be released later this year.
The film coincidentally stars Timberlake and Mumford’s wife, actress Carey Mulligan. The former made the reveal while doing an interview with Capital FM yesterday and told the station, “Okay I can tell you this. There’s a Coen brothers film coming out soon that I was lucky enough to work with Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan. And coincidentally I did work with Marcus Mumford on the soundtrack, so I became very good friends with them.” The “Suit and Tie” singer added, “Marcus and myself, we all kind of worked on the music together and I don’t know any other world where we would have the opportunity to collaborate like that but it was so much fun.
“So not only will that be a great movie, but the music to it will be fantastic.” Knowing Timberlake’s track record of hit films and music…we can’t argue with that!
