Following the world’s first look at Prince George Alexander Louis and the subsequent family photos, Kate Middleton and Prince William have kept their first child away from the public eye.
However with the christening, we have another look at the quickly growing baby boy, and fresh new fashions from both Kate and Pippa Middleton to fawn over.
For the ceremony, which the new parents chose to keep very small by inviting only 21 guests, Middleton wore a cream Alexander McQueen look along with a Jane Taylor hat. Her sister on the other hand, opted for an outfit from London boutique Suzannah featuring a cream wool trapeze coat with blush pink trim and oyster silk lining worn over the blush lace ‘Paris’ dress, and a pill box hat designed by British milliner Edwina Ibbotson.
Those in attendance at Chapel Royal of St. James’s Palace included Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince Harry, Zara Phillips, who is a godmother, Michael and Carole Middleton as well as Pippa, a friend of Princess Diana’s, Julia Samuel, who is also one of the godmothers and Kate’s friend from school, Emilia Jardine-Paterson.
The three-month old was baptized with water from the River Jordan while wearing a white robe that was designed to mirror the one worn in 1841 for the christening of Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter. Adorably, Kate and William are sharing their wedding cake with their first born as a tier will be served at a private tea afterwards.
