Remember when Claire’s was all the range in middle school? Did we just date ourselves admitting that? Even so, the tween jewelry retailer didn’t seem to be this cool when we use to frequent the mall boutique and there certainly weren’t collaborations with celebrities.
Katy Perry designed a line of baubles that will be sold in Claire’s stores globally for the next two years, the first time ever for the brand. “When we survey our girls around the world, she’s the superstar that resonates globally,” said Jim Fielding, chief executive officer of Claire’s.
Called Katy Perry Prism, the collection will include limited-edition items, seasonal novelty pieces, collectibles and product inspired by the lyrics and titles of Perry’s biggest hits, Women’s Wear Daily is reporting.
Recently, Rihanna admitted to Vogue magazine that the majority of her jewelry—when she isn’t dripping in Chanel—is from Claire’s. Given that, she’s be the perfect collaboration after Perry, wouldn’t you say? Jewels in the key of style.
