Actress Keira Knightley and Chanel are giving things another go with her third campaign for Coco Mademoiselle, complete with a short film. The latest installment follows a more controversial interpretation of Coco Mademoiselle, which debuted in 2011. Though both feature a flawless Knightley, directed by Atonement’s Joe Wright, the new film is surely less racy than the older one, which was deemed inappropriate for children by the Advertising Standards Authority in the UK last year.
At any rate, it seems like Chanel took this opportunity to downplay the sex appeal while still managing to churn out a pretty gorgeous film. It’s no wonder why Knightley is so excited about it: “The third film is very silver and quite cool,” she says. “But again, nobody can quite capture [Coco Mademoiselle]; so she is kind of there, but she is sort of playing with them…And then she gets on a speed boat! What more can you ask for?”
Well, how about the fact that film features the most posh-looking party ever, mostly thanks to a white double-C staircase? Add a charming male model into the mix and we’re hooked. Coco Mademoiselle’s elusive character taunts us just as much as it does the dashing man who tries to get ahold of her. But lucky for us, getting a piece of that is as easy as heading over to the Chanel counter to buy a pretty bottle of the perfume.
