For all of the hoopla, threats to cancel subscriptions and Twitter declarations that Anna Wintour was off her rocker, Vogue’s controversial April issue featuring North West’s parents, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, is on track to sell 300,000 to 400,000 issues.

To put things into perspective, Beyoncé’s March 2013 issue sold about 355,000 and First Lady Michelle Obama’s second cover the following month sold just under 300,000, Page Six is reporting.

Confirming Wintour knew what she was doing all along (and that the issue would sell).

“Part of the pleasure of editing Vogue, one that lies in a long tradition of this magazine, is being able to feature those who define the culture at any given moment, who stirs up, whose presence in the world shapes the way it looks and influences the way that we see it,” the bobbed editrix wrote in her cover letter. “I think we can all agree on the fact that that role is currently being played by Kim and Kanye to a T. (Or perhaps that should be to a K)”

Kay, you were right, Anna.
