Lenny Kravitz, Rumer Willis, and Reggie Bush Toast to SLS Hotel in South Beach Soiree

By  November 12, 2012

Style. Luxury. Sophistication. That’s what hospitality guru Sam Nazarian, design genius Philippe Starck, culinary master José Andrés, and rocker-turned-interior decorator Lenny Kravitz had in mind when they partnered to open a new hotel on Miami’s chic Collins Avenue. Thus was born SLS South Beach. The hospitality center boasts Madame de Pompadour aesthetics; a Kravtiz-designed penthouse suite; eats from Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi and tapas from Andrés; 28,000 square-feet of event space; and a prime location that brings bits of Latin America, Asia, and the Mediterranean to Miami. When something this big opens up on South Beach, the stars are guaranteed to come out. And when Rumer Willis, Reggie Bush, and Jonathan Cheban are among the swanky set to celebrate SLS Hotel’s grand opening, it’s the perfect christening to the city’s newest society rendezvous.

The November 8 grand opening of SLS Hotel was fêted by more than a thousand guests, who partied to the evening’s Le Cirque Rêves theme. Gorgeous geishas hosted the party while video installations, life-size holograms, and Madame de Pompadour incarnate entertained the night’s VIPs. While guests including Tracy Mourning, Dallas Austin, and the cast of Real Housewives of Miami, enjoyed comp’d cocktails from Grey Goose, the party shifted gears and ended up at Nazarian’s Hyde Beach at the American Airlines Arena. There, Willis held a debut of her own as her band, Capital Cities, served as the soundtrack to the affair.
