The Council of Fashion Designers of America will toast to this year’s Vogue Fashion Fund finalists with their 10th annual dinner and a keynote address from Tom Ford. When Julianne Moore introduces the designer who considers Carine Roitfeld his muse, he will join the ranks of Karl Lagerfeld, John Galliano, and last year’s keynote speaker, new Burberry CEO Christopher Bailey.
Bailey spoke about his start in fashion and how he came to arrive at his then position as chief creative officer for the company. Ford is expected to “dish out career advice and plenty of anecdotes to this year’s 10 finalists,” Women’s Wear Daily is reporting.
The finalists—Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osbourne of Public School, Nonoo’s Misha Nonoo, Tim Coppens, Veronica Miele Beard, and Veronica Swanson Beard of Veronica Beard, Marc Alary of Marc Alary Jewelry, Juan Carlos Obando, Parabellum’s Commodore Jason Jones, Tome’s Ryan Lobo, and Ramon Lobo and Ramon Martin; Shimon and Ariel Ovadia of Ovadia & Sons, and Todd Snyder—are all competing for a grand prize of $300,000, two runners-up will each get $100,000 and will be paired with established professionals that will act as mentors.
