Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Ferrell and his fellow organizers of Lollapalooza have finally unveiled the lineup for this year’s festivals via Twitter and Instagram.
From August 2nd-4th, Mumford & Sons, Vampire Weekend, and the Killers join music legends like the Cure, New Order, and Nine Inch Nails, who return to the road after a hiatus in 2009. The Lumineers, Imagine Dragons, Queens of the Stone Age, the reunited Postal Service, and even Lana del Rey are also set to take the stage in Chicago.
Ferrell shared his excitement of having the Cure finally join the lineup with Rolling Stone. “The first time I ran into Robert Smith of the Cure was 1997 in new York City,” he said in a statement. “We were both going into the same club; and it was Halloween. I was dressed as myself and so was he. I am so happy the Cure have finally arrived at Lolla in Chicago.”
For those looking to dance rather than rock out, Knife Party, Steve Aoki, Major Lazer and Icona Pop will keep you moving throughout the festival. Also expect the likes of 2 Chainz, Azealia Banks (who just released a new video today), Theophilus London, and Angel Haze are also slated to perform with a little something for everyone to enjoy during the three days of festivities.
Time is already running out to nab tickets as most of the packages are already sold out, but single day passes are still available. Check out the full list of artists and snap up the last batch of tickets on April 3rd at 9:00 AM EST at Lollapalooza.com.
