M.I.A +Versace: All I Wanna Do Is See This Line

Versace and M.I.A. are two peas in a pod as of late. Over the summer, the musician and mama of baby Ikhyd (not Icky!) rocked a pair of Versace gold and black leggings, a top in the same print, and an elaborate leather jacket to the Atelier Versace Fall/Winter 2012 runway show. Then, as we confirmed on GlamChic last week, M.I.A. spilled the beans during a talk at MOMA’s PS1 and revealed that she would be working with Versace for an upcoming line. She didn’t go into detail, but the audience did get a sneak peek into some of her design folders.

The coming together of the two names is perfect, really. M.I.A.’s style is in line with the vision Donatella has set out creating for the design house. Just take a look at this footage from their Spring 2013 ready to wear line. Characteristic of the Versace line, the collection is creative, luxurious, striking… ostentatious, if you will. And so is M.I.A.-so we expect some bold in a capital B pieces from the collaboration.

StyleBistro created a slideshow of the “Paper Planes” singer’s top looks over the years, and after drooling over her genius pairing of insane prints and standout silhouettes, we have some predictions of what M.I.A’s Versace collection will look like. One word-swag. We’re imagining loud patterns, eclectic mixing of street styles with couture designs, untraditional materials, graphics, and a whole lot of edge.
