The turn towards textures for the fall is on the rise, and MAC is making the most of the new nail trend with its latest lacquer collection.

The beauty authority tapped forensic-scientist-turned-celebrity-manicurist Marian Newman to craft a selection of polishes and topcoats to transform our tips and toes for the upcoming season. If her name doesn’t seem familiar on this side of the pond, Newman has been a backstage staple at London and Paris Fashion Weeks for Givenchy, Vivienne Westwood, Valentino, Moschino, and McQueen. The nail ninja regularly paired up with Val Garland and Sam McKnight to ensure stars like Kate Moss, Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell, and more are cover ready.

As for the mani musts themselves, which are already on shelves, the top coats can add a new dimension to your nail look with sheer pearl transformers in shades of blue, green, pink, and gold. The brand turned up the texture with Texturize, a clear leather effect topcoat, and turned down the color saturation with Shadow, a sheer blackening topcoat. There’s Rebel, a creamy plum to pair with fall’s signature berry lip if you’re looking for a little bit of color. You can also go nearly nude with two neutral tones to give your nails a break from the kaleidoscope of summer shades.
