Mani Monday: Make It Rain With Illamasqua

By  July 15, 2013

Illamasqua-RaindropsThere are some cult products and shades that a beauty buff is willing to buy in bulk, and one of those is Illamasqua’s Nail Varnish in Raindrops. The sheer finish and slight shimmer has become the most covetable color from the UK-based brand, but it’s now making a triumphant return!

In celebration of the restocking of the polish and its sister shade, Pink Raindrops, US Nail Ambassador Fleury Rose crafted a graphic manicure to highlight the shimmer and sheerness of the hue that you can easily create at home following these steps:

Prep nails by removing old polish, filing, buffing, and applying a thin coat of Illamasqua’s Base Coat. Apply two coats of you preferred raindrops shade and allow it to dry for 5 to 10 minutes. Apply of swipe of you complimentary polish in either Caress (pale blue) or Harem (violet) to the smallest edge of a wedge makeup sponge and gently dab at an angle to create the diagonal line and repeat on the other side of the nail, connecting at the tip of the nail. Keep going over on all of the nails until the diagonal lines are opaque. Dip s very fine point brush in Scorch and wipe off the excess on the edge of the bottle. Carefully outline each nail with a think line on each nail. Allow it to dry for 5 to 10 minutes before applying a topcoat. And voila! A subtle yet stunning summer manicure before the trend falls away.
