Marie-Claire-May-2014-Hollywood-Issue

No, seriously, something pretty amazing is happening in the Hearst Tower. And we like it. Not to be outdone by Harper’s Bazaar’s debut beauty issue or Cosmopolitan’s tear away sponsored subscriber cover, Marie Claire is bringing out the big guns for its Hollywood issue!

Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, House of Cards‘ Kate Mara, Maleficent actress Elle Fanning and Godzilla’s Elizabeth Olsen will each appear individually on the May issue of the glossy.

“These stunning women are having their moment—they all have a refreshingly unique take on the world and Marie Claire is proud to celebrate each of them and all they’ve accomplished thus far in the May issue of the magazine,” a statement announcing the covers read.

Fanning, Olsen and Nyong’o are becoming fast fashionable friends; they all starred Miu Miu’s spring 2014 ad campaign—coincidently something that Lupita wouldn’t have imagined for herself.

“I wasn’t a follower of fashion,” the 31-year-old told Marie Claire. “It was a world unknown. Then I met my stylist, Micaela Erlanger [introduced by her friend and Non-Stop costar Michelle Dockery], and we came to interpret my style: clean lines, strong color. I don’t dress to impress; I don’t feel that pressure.”

A notion that 16-year-old Fanning already agrees with. “I like to dress my age,” she said in the spread. “You don’t want to look too old when you’re not or too young when you’re not. When it comes to what I wear, I always choose something no one’s seen before. I at least try to create a look that’s interesting, even if someone hates it!”

One thing’s for sure, we can’t wait to see this issue when it hits newsstands on April 22nd!
