Last November, Kate Middleton paid a visit to Cambridge, wearing a beige cashmere MaxMara coat with a high neck and a bow belt. Not unlike when our first family wears anything J.Crew, the coat flew off the racks, quickly selling out. Well now, MaxMara has brought the coat back and renamed it ‘The Kate!’
The royal family is not affiliated with MaxMara Studio’s decision to rename or release the coat. In fact, last April the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess, along with Prince Harry, applied to the Intellectual Property Office to trademark Middleton’s royal title, according to Vogue UK. Speculation is that she would like her charities to benefit from the name, though we wonder if that’s because she doesn’t want anyone else too.
Smart move, Kate, keep the money in the family! Either way, the coat is available now retailing for $1,367.
