DESIGNER: Sarah Burton
TRENDS: Grunge gets sophisticated in McQ’s Pre-fall 2014 laid-back line. It’s hard to believe two contradicting aesthetics can so perfectly be woven together into a collection that makes sense, but that’s what Burton manages to do by mixing punky multi-print layering with chic silhouettes. Looks include tartan shift dresses with leather belts and corsets, animal-print pieces of multiple color palettes, baggy denim jeans with leather patchwork, hip-hitting outerwear over flared mini skirts, fit-and-flare frocks, patterned trousers, and edgy moto jackets.
THE INSPIRATION: Edgy, urban street-style with a feminine twist.
THE PALETTE: Cranberry, black, white, sky blue, olive green, azure, steel.
WHO SHOULD WEAR IT: Leandra Medine aka The Man Repeller, Rita Ora, Lily Collins.
