#MFW: Magnificent Minimalism at Iceberg AW11

Rarely do we ever see such bare bones beauty look at a fall/winter fashion show, but if you look closer you will see that things aren’t always what they seem…

Lead makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury (for MAC Cosmetics) called the look she created a ‘monochromatic new wave of mirror-shine color.’ “We’re doing a glossy peach-beige on the eye and faintly on the cheekbones, and a pale, almost nude pink on the lips, which we’re painting gloss on as well.” Adds Tilbury, “We’re playing with a glossy texture, so it feels very fresh, and a bit more modern. Very futuristic with a little bit of edge.

On to the tresses! “It’s really simple hair—just a very small tight bun with a low side part,” says Eugene Souleiman, Wella Professionals Global Creative Director. “We’ll mess the bun up  a bit before the girls go on to make it a bit more textured and imperfect.”

As for his modus operandi, Souleiman informed us that he chose not to use any product on the girls hair. “There’s no product whatsoever—just freshly washed hair. It’s important that they look sophisticated, fresh, pure, and a little soft.”
