Having rocked looks designed by Marc Jacobs consistently all year, from the Met Ball to the 30th Annual Night Of Stars, it’s no surprise that Miley Cyrus is the latest face of the stylish brand. She sat front row at the designer’s show at NYFW, stripped down for his “Protect the Skin You’re In” cancer benefit, and recently Instagrammed a photo of herself wearing his “I pay my taxes, I want my rights” political statement t-shirt. In other words, we saw this collaboration coming.
In the first revealed image of the Marc Jacobs spring 2014 ad campaign, allegedly shot by photographer David Sims, Cyrus channels a mysterious sense of glamour. Styled with messy hair and dark makeup, she poses in a regal looking military inspired coat and oxblood shorts, both detailed with black lace embroidery. Cyrus follows the footsteps of models Edie Campbell and Lily McMenamy, who starred in the last Marc Jacobs’ campaign in the fall of 2013, as well as celebrities like Dakota Fanning and Sofia Coppola, who have posed for the brand in the past.
