Reality TV just became way more exciting. And real.

To figuratively open the doors to the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists are miking up and baring their creative process for the cameras! Beginning this December on Ovation, The Fashion Fund will allow us to go inside the world of the finalists thanks to a six episode arch.

Though the process has always been quite secretive, here’s hoping this documentary will shed a bit of light into the course of action finalists endure from application to acceptance to experience. In between interviews with the designers, the hour long episodes will surely include moments with some of the top players in the CFDA, Steven Kolb, Diane von Furstenberg, Michael Kors, Rag & Bone’s Marcus Wainwright, Theory’s Andrew Rosen, and Vera Wang, to name just a few.

The Fashion Fund is produced in partnership with Conde Nast Entertainment, meaning  Anna Wintour‘s given her blessing. In addition to an exclusive look at the designers and their process, the show will also afford viewers a look at studio visits, a Vogue fashion shoot and a fashion week presentation. “This is the real deal. There have been a lot of fashion competition series on television, but nothing comes close to matching the authenticity and talent found in The Fashion Fund,” said Ovation chief creative officer Robert Weiss.
