My Final Fashion Statement to Glam!

By  August 06, 2009

My favorite part about fashion and trends is that you can make it anything you want it to be. Everyone has hisher own personal sense of style and it’s what sets you apart and makes you unique. No matter who your inspiration might be, what look you’re trying to go for, or which designer you love most, what is most important is to be confident in who you are! That is something that no price tag or label can ever define. Wear things you love, go with your instincts and don’t be afraid to take risks… that’s one fashion statement that will never go out of style.

With fall around the corner, we all have our news and trends to be excited about. Here are my top 5 that I personally cannot wait for!

1. Gossip Girl
Monday mornings just aren’t so bad knowing that at 8:00 sharp it’s time to cozy up on the couch with my friends and watch what is easily every New Yorker’s favorite girl-drama show. What can I say, I am head over heels for the Gossip Girl crew and somehow your issues don’t seem half as crazy when you enter the world of the Upper East Side. And of course, Blair Waldorf, my favorite of all and inspiration for fashion… can’t say I don’t look forward to her outfits in every episode and try to figure out how to dress just like her (yes, I’ll admit it). Who even needs magazines anymore when you can find all of fashion’s hottest trends on the CW channel Monday nights!

2. Jimmy Choo for H&M
I’m just really excited for this match! I’m already a pretty devoted H&M shopper, but now with Jimmy Choo designing clothes, shoes and bags for them, it just got that much better. I will be anxiously awaiting  the collection to hit stores on November 14th (it’s not on my calendar or anything!)

3. Balenciaga for fall
Well, I will admit that I have slight Balenciaga bag obsession. Somehow, even their ridiculous lime green colored bags are still drop dead! Being that fall fashion is always the best season (my personal opinion), I always love to see the new colors and styles that Balenciaga is going to offer. Everything I’ve seen and heard so far is amazing… and they are also bringing back their gray color which is something to keep in mind since gray will be a very hot color for fall!

4. Ripped Tights
So we’ve definitely already been starting to see the ripped jeans look, but this trend is going to continue and even spread into tights! I am not someone who likes to be too trendy, so if it’s the kind of thing that everyone is wearing, I try to steer clear of it. But if you’re one of the first to sport the trend, then it makes it okay! I always love tights in the fallwinter seasons, and I think you can get really creative with them; a design or color can really spice up an outfit. I love wearing black (you simply can’t go wrong) so a long black top, ripped black pair of Wolfords and a pair of booties… I’ll be sure to hit the town in that this fall!

5. Mermaid-wave hairstyle
If you have long hair like me, I’m always looking for cool new ways to wear it or style it! (Not that I am one of those who can read the “How-To’s” in a magazine, those always turn out a mess for me). However, I think this “mermaid” 1940s-inspired wave look with a side part is the perfect mix of classy-red-carpet and laidback what-do-you-mean-I-did-my-hair-for-you? style! Miranda Kerr had this look at the ESPY awards.
