In the latest round of Fashion Musical Chairs, Hermès said goodbye to one artistic director and hello to another. Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski will follow in the footsteps of Christophe Lemaire as artistic director for women’s ready-to-wear at Hermès.
As we reported on Monday, French designer Lemaire left the brand after four years in order to focus his efforts on his signature label. His last collection for Hermès is slated to show in Paris on October 1. After that, Vanhee-Cybulski, who’s a veteran of Maison Martin Margiela, The Row, and Céline, will lend her extraordinary talents to the iconic brand.
“Her talent and her creative track record will be great assets in the continued development of women’s ready-to-wear. She will devote herself full-time to our house,” Axel Dumas, chief executive officer of Hermès, said. We’re certainly looking forward to seeing what happens when Vanhee-Cybulski takes those orange reigns.
