NARS is proving that beauty has no age limit by naming 68-year-old Charlotte Rampling as the brand’s newest face.
She’s slated to appear in the makeup authority’s 20th anniversary campaign, featuring a black and white portrait-style image shot by François NARS himself! “She is a natural beauty that feels strong, yet relatable,” Nars told Women’s Wear Daily about his muse. “Charlotte’s ability of transformation is unparalleled. Whether captured in pieces of artwork, through the lens of a magazine photographer or on film and the big screen, she had an amazing power to encompass a character.”
You may remember her as Dexter’s Dr. Evelyn Vogel, but Rampling is a seasoned star who got her start in the ‘60s classic Georgy Girl and hasn’t slowed down since, including a Marc Jacobs campaign in 2004. She also marks the most recent silver-haired siren to front a campaign, as beauty and style guru Linda Rodin was one of the faces featured in The Row’s Pre-Fall collection as well as American Apparel’s Jacky O’Shaughnessy, who stripped down to her skivvies for the newest ads.
One thing we have to say: we hope to look as lovely as Rampling when we’re her age!
