DESIGNER: Norma Kamali
INSPIRATION: Back to the basics 101. While designers from New York to Paris produced sartorial spectacles during Fashion Week, Kamali brought her Spring 2014 collection home in an intimate preview at her Midtown West store in Manhattan. Her latest wears are a representation of familiar territory, a reworking of her 1980s “Sweats” collection. True to form, she produced multi-use pieces apt for layering, this time opting for casual luxe and athletic apparel that can be worn outside of the gym.
TRENDS: Mesh, hide-and-seek sheer panels, activewear, leather-trimmed sweats, mixed-print pant and short suits.
PALETTE: White, black, grey, silver, mustard yellow.
WHO SHOULD WEAR IT: Models off duty, fashion bloggers, and her list of celebrity clientele like Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Naya Rivera.
