Just when you thought Rent the Runway couldn’t make it easier for women to have the designer dress of their dreams, the leading online destination for luxury rental is moving into a brick-and-mortar!
October 17th, 2013 marks the first day that Rent the Runway’s 1400-square-foot showroom on the second floor on New York City’s iconic Henri Bendel Fifth Avenue flagship. Stocked with 175 designer clothing and accessories brands like Badgley Mischka, Vera Wang, ML Monique Lhiullier, customers will have the option to try on dresses before reserving rentals (up to four months in advance!) for whatever occasion—weddings, girls night out, big conference at work, Rent the Runway at Henri Bendel has you covered.
“It’s become clear to us at Rent the Runway that our customer is the true go-getter girl—she is smart and busy, she loves fashion but wants it easily and at the highest level of service,” Jennifer Hyman, RTR’s CEO and co-founder said.
A level of service that comes complete with personal stylists or “Go-To Girls,” who will provide consultations. Each fitting room is equipped with a GLAM-girl friendly scanner and iPad to upload their fave pieces to their Virtual Closet.
But what else would you expect from the company that partnered with Etsy to bring you the perfect Halloween costume? “There are such smart women in our office and they came up with some really clever ideas,” said Jenny Fleiss, RTR’s co-founder and head of development, who, for the record, will dress up as Angela Ballerina with her two-year-old daughter for Halloween. She’ll be wearing an “Allison Parris super poof-y dress and maybe, mouse ears?” Her husband, per our suggestion, will be the cheese.
Be sure to check out Rent the Runway’s new showroom at Henri Bendel located at 712 Fifth Avenue, open Monday through Saturday 10:00am to 8:00pm and from 12:00pm to 7:00pm on Sundays. Tell them GLAM sent you (wink).
