#NYFW Bensoni Fall 2011

Sonia Yoon and Benjamin Channing Clyburn of Bensoni took us on a trip to the chapel Sunday evening during their Fall 2011 show. Inspired by a gothic wedding, the designing duo explored the notion of dark romance. The Bensoni bride is certainly not the traditional princess bride; on the contrary, she is unapologetically in touch with her dark side and never too sweet. Every wedding must have flowers, but even the pretty rose print seen throughout the collection had a sinister edge. The roses looked as if they were dripping and melting down the dresses. Although the duo focused on dark glamour this season, they did deliver a handful of lighter, brighter party dresses at the very end, which looked ready for the reception dance floor.
