#NYFW Costello Tagliapietra Fall 2011
By Emily Popp
February 12, 2011
For Fall 2011 Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra presented long, cowl-neck dresses and smartly tailored pants in both gentle, subtle hues and rusty orange and mint green. The eco-conscious designers used Airdye techniques, which means fabrics are dyed without water. Even the gift bags filled with organic goodies were made out of the same striped material as seen on the runway. Before the show, we chatted with the boys who revealed they were nervous. And who is more prone to the pre-show jitters? “That would be me,” admitted Robert. But it was smooth-sailing once things got started. As for the collection, Robert noted, “At the end of the day, it’s meant to be a fun collection celebrating how people creatively dress. It’s all about those women who are so excited to wear clothes. That’s the type of girl we were thinking about this season.”
