#NYFW Duckie Brown Spring 2012

A remix of Missy Elliot’s “Work It” by a male rapper was quite the fitting background music for Duckie Brown’s Spring 2012 show, which thankfully injected a bit of masculine energy into a female centric week.  A military influence prevailed with nylon bomber jackets and vests styled with Duckie Brown’s signature six-pleat trousers.  Tweed remains a key fabric this season; exquisitely tailored indigo suits were made entirely of it.  And when it comes to making a statement, printed shorts are the way to go; the show concluded with silk shirts and shorts in blush, grey, and amethyst.  The boldness of Steven Cox and Daniel Silver’s creations highlight the gents’ greatest illicit asset–his femininity.
