#NYFW Fall 2012: Pamella Roland Aims for Aspen

By  February 15, 2012

Laura Mercier experts made plenty of rounds during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and brought a little mid-western love to Pamella Roland’s Fall 2012 Aspen-inspired show. Laura Mercier’s global brand ambassador, Matin Maulawizada, created a sultry, yet subtle, makeup look that drew on the Colorado city’s earthy tones. The look complemented Roland’s rich textures and, as Maulawizada explains,  was “reminiscent of nature with monochromatic colors.” Best of all, it’s an everyday-easy beauty look that any woman can add to her makeup armory.

For Maulawizada, “subtly sun-kissed skin and breezy blooming cheeks” were essential to the foundation of the models’ makeup. He used Laura Mercier Bronzing Powder in Matte Bronze all over the face to provide a natural-looking glow, then used Second Skin Cheek Colour in Wild Bouquet to accent the apples of the cheeks. Next, he dabbed the brand’s new Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Cocoa (available Fall 2012) onto the lips to create a stain effect, which offset the its deep hue. Maulawizada created a chocolate-brown smoky eye using Matte Eye Colour in Truffle all over the lids and the Coffee Ground shade along the lash lines. To finish off the look, he used Faux Lash Mascara (coming soon!) to make the eyes pop.
