#NYFW Jeremy Scott Fall 2011
By Emily Popp
February 17, 2011
Neon fur! Fishnet! Sequins! Plastic! These are just a few of Jeremy Scott’s favorite things. With Kanye West seated in the font row, the Jeremy Scott Fall 2011 show opened with a recorded voiceover of a crasher trying to get in to an event. “No, my name is on the list,” is all you could hear as the lights dimmed and the first look appeared. Models donned dyed pigtails, and safety cone orange and Pepto pink were just some of the juicy colors that lit up the runway. Cheeky phrases like “Enjoy God” in Coca Cola script popped up on both sweaters and mini-dresses. The collection even included a Superman-inspired jumpsuit, complete with the cape. The raucous show was titled “Candy Flip.” Not familiar with the term? Take a quick visit to Urbandictonary.com. Scott’s show proved that he is a designer who knows how to celebrate and poke fun at fashion at the same time.
