#NYFW Rachel Antonoff Spring 2012

Rachel Antonoff is constantly thinking outside the box and her presentations are always quirky and fun. And for Spring 2012, Antonoff decided to show her collection in an eerie, albeit whimsical, dollhouse known as Antonoff Manor. Models were displayed as little girls with gloomy expressions who appeared to be both helpless and mischievous. Antonoff said she was inspired by “the innocent girl in Wednesday Addams and Winona Ryder in Beetlejuice…also Minnie Mouse and R.L. Stein.” Sporting Wednesday’s signature pigtail braids, several models also wore Peter Pan collars as tribute.

Effortless floral and polka dot print dresses in varied lengths and lace details made for a distinctly feminine feel.  An assortment of oxford shoes added a hint of English aesthetic. Cardboard cutouts of a pet cemetery, spider webs, ravens, bats and even a live black cat made for a spooky ambiance, but the clothes were far from it!
