Sophie Theallet

Sophie Theallet’s Spring 2010 show had a soft Safari vibe, and this season we definitely wouldn’t mind trekking through a variety of terrains in her designs. A tribal influence prevailed in prints and cuts with burnt umber, blush and neutrals rounding out the palette. Shirt dresses played an integral role in a variety of silhouettes. Fellow designers like Rachel Roy and Coach’s Reed Krakoff seemed to be comparing notes in the front row; while several members of the Vogue team, Carine Roitfeld and Ikram Goldman, who will likely get many of these pieces into Michelle Obama’s closet, gave Theallet thunderous applause! It seems the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalist has hit her stride. ~ Nola Weinstein
