The makeup trends are just as predictable as the seasons. Fall equals sultry dark lips and metallic eyeshadows. Spring is about pastel colors for nails and eyes. And summer? Summer is sizzling hot, colors of fire. Red, yellow and of course orange. MAC Cosmetics is all over the seasonal style with their latest collection All About Orange. The collection gathers together new items, repromotes, and one or two pieces from the permanent MAC stash. The lipsticks range from Creamsicle peach to Neon Orange, and it got me thinking about the awesomeness of orange. It isn’t for everyone, but when orange lip color compliments your skin tone, it can be a match made in heaven.
MAC’s new batch of lippies got me musing about my fave orange lip colors, from the department store to the drugstore. Here are 4 of my favorite lipsticks, all in the color that rhymes with nothing:
- MAC Morange is the gold standard of orange lipsticks if you ask me, and it’s just as gorgeous on ladies all shades of beautiful. It’s a deep, statement orange.
- Milani Lip Flash in Flash Light is a bright, shimmery coral lip crayon (and you know how I love those). It’s creamy and buildable with a red shimmer that pops over your fave lipliner.
- OCC Lip Tar in Safety Orange is a definitive orange lip color that will last all day. Not for the faint of heart.
- Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids in Vibrant Mandarin (with Electric Orange at a close second). I love the honey-infused glide of these vibrantly colored Maybelline lipsticks, and Vibrant Mandarin is eminently wearable. It’s the kind of orange everyone can rock, as versus Electric Orange which is only for true orange lovers.
Those are four of my favorite orange lipsticks. Do you have any recommendations to add to my list?
