Off-The-Shoulder Dresses Dare Us to Show a Little Skin This Season

By  January 14, 2014

Here’s one trend we won’t be giving the cold shoulder to, despite its name. A little bit whimsical, with a lot of modern flair, the off-the-shoulder styles at the 2014 Golden Globes had us dreaming of the dresses we would wear in the same silhouette. Fans of the chic neckline included Zoe Saldana, who went for a soft pink and black embellished Prabal Gurung gown on the awards show red carpet, and Jaimie King and Nina Dobrev, who attended the InStyle and Warner Bros. Golden Globes after-party in crystal encrusted dresses by Giorgio Armani and Prabal Gurung respectively.  Our case for the look? The style of the off-the-shoulder dresses ruling 2014 feature a fitted waist and sleek skirt, making for a flattering shape on women of all shapes and sizes. Furthermore, a frock that focuses on your collarbone and shoulders is a sophisticated and subtle way to show a bit of skin, not to mention a nice change from the sheer paneled and midriff baring ensembles that have been heavily featured in formal dressing as of late. Will you be rocking the come-back neckline this season?
