While OPI’s Artistic Director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann revealed a few tidbits of what to expect next year over breakfast this morning (more on this later), she didn’t let one secret slip until now…. Attention mani mavens: Gwen Stefani has partnered with OPI!
The colorful pair will releases a limited edition nail collection of seven hues that were initially inspired by the Met Ball’s punk theme this year, which lead to Weiss-Fischmann to celebrating music big influence on fashion. And who better to bridge the gap between both than Stefani herself? “With her expertise as a singer, songwriter and designer, who better to collaborate with than Gwen Stefani?” the OPI head asked. “Known for her trademark red lips, bold eye makeup and nail art, Gwen uses beauty to accessorize her style.”
OPI took a chance to spread its wing a little further with the polish collection to include semi-matte shades like Love.Angel.Music.Baby. and 4 in the Morning that don’t require a top coat. Of course there are a few glossy cremes and a sparkling glitter for good measure: Hey Baby, I Sing in Color, and In True Stefani Fashion, respectively. Push and Shove is a bold chrome hue that requires a good foundation in Lay Down the Base for a truly mirrored finish. And to top everything off, there’s a gift set for Over & Over A-Gwen (pulled from Stefani’s signature red lip) that includes Swarovski crystals in black and silver, as well as gold and pewter studs in various shapes to customize your unique nail look.
No doubt fans of the celebrated songstress will be lining up to channel her and rock steady. Mark your calendars , nail art aficionados: the hues will hit shelves in January 2014 at Ulta.com for $9 each save for the gift set, which will be $14.95.
