On Monday, July 8th, 2013, The William J. Clinton Presidential Center will host a private grand-opening for the much-anticipated exhibit, Oscar de la Renta: American Icon with ODLR and Anna Wintour.

Specifically curated for the Clinton Center, at the urging of the designer’s long-time friend, Hillary Clinton, the exhibit tells the story of the designer’s life, career, and impact on the fashion world.

Oscar de la Renta is the ultimate statesmen of American fashion,” Clinton told Vogue in December 1998. At the time, this marked the first time a First Lady was featured on the fashion bible. “His name alone evokes shimmering elegance and timeless beauty that has helped defined global style for generations. He is a true American.”

The exhibition features the two-time CFDA president’s pieces worn on the runway and the red carpet by the likes of Laura Bush, Jessica Chastain, Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nancy Reagan and Taylor Swift. In addition to designer’s craftsmanship on display, the exhibition showcases video interviews with friends like Andre Leon Talley, Barbara Walters, Anna Wintour, and Diane von Furstenberg.

So, who’s up for a trip to Little Rock, Arkansas? The exhibit is on display until December 1st, 2013.
