Oscars 2014: Haute Hair Predictions for the Best Actress Nominees

By  February 27, 2014

Awards season comes to a close on Oscar Sunday, so the dress and the hair must be perfect for each of Hollywood’s brightest as they prepare to take home the gold statue for Best Actress. As we count down the hours until the first star hits the red carpet, we turned to Moroccanoil‘s Artistic Director, Antonio Corral Calero, to gain his insights on what hairstyles these nominees should pair with their sure-to-be-memorable gowns:

Amy AdamsThis is the year for Amy Adams’ style because of her role in American Hustle. She played a confident woman in the film, which has translated into her red carpet style.  She’s been bringing us retro styles and at the Oscars, I predict she will have a sleek, soft style with an essence of sensuality.  Perhaps a flowing, bouncy style with the hair parted on the side, over her shoulder.

Cate BlanchettAs the main contender for Best Actress in a Leading Role, Cate Blanchett will not disappoint in the red carpet. Does she ever?! Cate always chooses timeless looks that enhance her best features. I predict she will be in a 1950’s-inspired, classic side-parted chignon which is the perfect style to complement her face shape.

Sandra BullockSandra Bullock has recently made a dramatic change in her wardrobe and hair, however, everything compliments her fun personality.  Sandra’s beautiful, shiny, healthy hair is expressive, so I predict we’ll see that at the Oscars. I would like to see her in a middle-parted, low ponytail with a bit of movement at the ends.

Judi Dench – This amazing actress has had a shorter, layered pixie cut for some time.  I can envision her with a texturized style with a bit of volume, which can be easily achieved with new Moroccanoil Molding Cream. The textured style would look great with the color of her hair and stunning eye color.

Meryl Streep – Meryl is amazing in everything that she does, including her red carpet style. She always chooses a simple hairstyle, but for the Oscars I would love for her to leave her bangs down to complement her smile and face structure.
