THE PARTY: Fragrance launch for Christian Siriano’s first scent, Silhouette
THE PLACE: 402 West 13 Street, Meatpacking District, NYC
THE FARE: Chocolate delights molded into the shape of Silhouette’s pleated flacon, and, of course, champagne.
THE DEETS: Before entering Siriano’s pre-NYFW fragrance launch, one could feel the venue’s smoldering heat from outside. Once inside the space, conditions didn’t fare any better. Still, the designer, his muse Coco Rocha, Alexa Chung, Mena Suvari, Marisa Tomei, and ball gown-clad models managed to stay in the kitchen. The main attraction, after all, was Siriano’s debut scent—a testament to his brand’s growing stake in lifestyle.
Dubbed for its celebration of “every woman… [at] any size, any age, any shape,” Silhouette layers grapefruit, oak moss, and freesia with cassis, green apple, and purple berries. It’s a concoction Rocha says mimics the unglamorous side of style. “A sweaty, sweaty silhouette,” she facetiously told reporters of what it brings to mind. “It’s so hot in here.” Surely, for more reason than one.
