Style Scoop: Patrick Robinson Leaves Armani Exchange, Want, Love, Need, Nordstorm?

Patrick Robinson, Gap’s former creative director, left his post at A|X Armani Exchange. The brand denied that his exit is a result of rumors of design plagiarism. The New York Post reported that “a torc bracket—which Robinson created for the men’s collection made from recycled bullets and handguns—with proceeds going to nonprofit Liberty United to fight gun violence—bore a resemblance to a style by David Yurman, resulting in a legal letter from the jeweler,” but an A|X Armani Exchange rep denied this. Nordstrom is bringing you a new way to shop thanks to its partnership with Wanelo. Wanelo—short for Want Need Love—will provide wall displays for the Seattle-based retailer based on what Wanelo’s users are rating the most popular. Wanelo allows its users to follow stores, friends and influencers while saving items to their profile pages to purchase or organize their shopping carts. [Women’s Wear Daily]

Last July Kanye West attacked a member of the paparazzi. As punishment, the rapper took a plea, agreed to take anger management classes and do 250 hours of community service. For the past six weeks, West’s version of community service consisted of him visiting L.A. Trade Technical College, a Los Angeles-based community college with a strong emphasis on fashion. He’s been talking to the students about his experience in the fashion industry. Maybe it’s just us, but this doesn’t really sound like a punishment for the chatty Yeezy. [Fashionista]

Well, this is getting messy. Dov Charney is demanding to be reinstated in his role as chairman and chief executive of American Apparel—a company he founded—or else, he’ll sue. After being suspended due to alleged misconduct, the brand offered Charney a multimillion-dollar severance to stay on as a consultant for four years, should he resign. If he doesn’t resign, he would be fired. “Unless these matters are addressed immediately, we intend to pursue legal action against the company,” Charney’s lawyer stated in a letter to the brand. Tory Burch has arrived in Milan. She will open a two-story, 4, 850-square-foot flagship store there in December. The store will carry the full Tory Burch collection. “Italy is a very important market for us,” the designer said. Her first store, in Rome, opened in 2010. [Women’s Wear Daily]

Juicy Couture plans to close all of its U.S. stores by the end of June, but international locations will remain open and the once-popular tracksuits will now be sold at Kohl’s (thank goodness!). This doesn’t really mean the end for Juicy, though: Jamie Salter, the chairman and CEO of Authentic Brands Group, has plans to revive and reinvent the label. New boutiques tentatively named “The World of Juicy” will hopefully open next spring in New York City (phew!). Viva La Juicy! [The Huffington Post]
