It seems like it was just yesterday—well, it really was yesterday—that Target’s hotly-anticipated capsule with Phillip Lim landed online and in-stores for camped-out shoppers to swarm. Already, the “Expect More. Pay Less” retailer has fashion fiends planning a new collaboration conquest with a London Fashion Week favorite.
This morning, fashion public relations firm KCD Worldwide tweeted that design duo Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos will launch an affordable Spring 2014 capsule at Target. The range will include nearly 70 pieces of women’s accessories, apparel, and swimwear (sorry, guys) when it lands on February 9, 2014… right in the middle of what will be an already-intense New York Fashion Week. The assortment will bring Peter Pilotto’s signature prints and bold hues to the masses for $79.99 or less.
“By working with Target, we’re able to broaden our reach and bring our design aesthetic to an entirely new audience,” said Pilotto in a press release. “This is a pivotal moment for our brand. Our collection for Target embodies the elegance and spirit of our own line, but makes it accessible to everyone,” at a fraction of the brand’s $1,000-plus price point added De Vos.
Target shoppers in the U.S. and Canada will be competing with shoppers on an international scale when this collection drops early next year. Not only will it be shoppable on Target.com, but curated items from the range will be sold on Net-A-Porter.com.
“By working with Net-A-Porter.com to make the collection available internationally, we’re able to introduce Target’s democratic approach to design to a new audience,” said Target senior VP of apparel and accessories Trish Adams. “We have believed in Peter Pilotto for years, and being able to offer our global customer base accessibly priced pieces from such a talented design duo is such a phenomenal opportunity,” added Net-A-Porter fashion director Holli Rogers.
