#PFW: Dominatrix Dames at Emanuel Ungaro A/W11

By  March 07, 2011

You heard it here first; for Fall 2011, the ‘bitch‘ is back.

For his second Emanuel Ungaro collection, designer Giles Deacon sent sexy domanatrix girls stomping down the catwalk with an on-trend ponytail swinging in the rear, only this time it was lengthened with extensions and bound at the base with strappy leather reminscent of naughty bedroom whips. “It’s very severe,” says Guido, lead hairstylist for the show. “The idea is that she’s a very strict woman,” adding that he relied on Redken’s Hardwear 16 Super Strong Gel to create the super slick style, and Forceful 23 Finishing Spray to set the look.

Two bands of lashes were required to create the über exaggerated eye. “We used MAC #1 Lash for density, and #8 Lash for length,” says Lucia Pieroni, key makeup artist, adding that they were muting the lips with concealer since ‘it’s really all about the eye.’ Tips and toes were fetishized as well; elongated nail extensions were filed into an oval shape, and painted in OPI’s Big Apple Red.

The only thing missing backstage? Beyonce’s hyper-melodic tune Diva thumping in the background. After all, every bad girl needs her theme music.
