After five days of shows featuring never-ending volume and baby-doll dresses, it was a pleasant surprise to see Michael Kors's body-conscious layering as a focal point of his spring 2007 collection. Kors unveiled a Flashdance/NYC ballet theme that, according to program notes, was about conjuring “the modernity of seasonless dressing” and “urban movement.” Showcasing sequined blazers and shimmering dresses that floated down the runway, he nailed it.
