Prison Break is the Most Binge-Worthy TV Show

By  April 11, 2013

We’ve all been there: you hear so much about a particular TV show, that you decide to catch an episode online. You know, just to see what all of the hype is about. One episode leads to another and before you know it, you’ve seen the entire series!

This is what NPD Group, a market research firm, considers “binge-watching,” made much more prevalent with the availability of online on-demand subscription services like Netflix, Hulu, and HBOGo.  This behavior falls into two categories: “the marathon binge” and the “catch-up binge.”

What shows are we binging on? Prison Break is number one for 2012, according to NPD Group, a drama that originally aired on Fox from 2005-2009 about a brother trying to get his falsely imprisoned brother out of jail. Other shows considered binge-worthy? Charmed, That 70s Show, How I Met Your Mother, Gossip Girl, Supernatural, Scrubs, Heroes, 24 and One Tree Hill NPD Group’s studies showed.
