Yes you know Yaz, the latest contraceptive pill out there? Yes come out you creative individuals! Nina is looking for the best creatives out there to design a fashionable packaging concept for the oral contraceptive. This interesting partnership with Step Up Women’s Network, anounced the ‘Yaz: Step Up and Go Beyond’ contest. The grand prize winner will recieve $10,000 to help jump start their career in design. (Great, that’s all we need…)

Nina Garcia, former fashion editor of Elle Magazine and judge on Project Runway, finally has a new gig - the head runner to find a new Yaz designer

On a positive note from Garcia herself;

“Whether you are an aspiring designer, graphic artist or simply the office fashionista with a flair for what’s chic, now is the chance to put your talent to the test and turn your visions into reality,”.

“The design challenge we’re posing is a fashion transformation unlike any other,” said Garcia. “We’re taking an iconic accessory — the birth control case — and asking aspiring designers to take a shot at redesigning it into a chic, more sophisticated carrying case that they could slip into their purses.”

I can admit to feeling this way many times myself. And just trying to relax can be tough. But, I am a perfectionist when it comes to aromatherapy. But I must admit I was very excited to review this new product.

Ladies, I highly recommend taking some time out for yourself and doing this at home ritual and spa treatment using the Melt Away Stress collection. This ‘lavender and chamomile’ infused product is highly effective. I recommend using the Melt Away Stress 24-hour moisturizing wash, moisturizing lotion, and oil.

Start with the moisturizing wash, I actually used the wash as a bubble bath to get the full experience. I used the moisturising oil whilst my skin was wet. This is actually a great aromatherapy tool. The reason being that the essential oils will be absorbed directly into the blood stream, thus taking full effect with the treatment. I felt relieved of all my stress! Taken care of, nurtured and very relaxed. I was quite surprised with how well the line worked.

To finish your session, use the moisturising lotion to top off the whole experience. Believe me you will be stress free, refreshed, and sleeping like a baby again.

Have I just died and gone to heaven?

This dress to me embodies everything elegant. Superb craftsmanship and design is combined with ruffles of color in subdued dusky rose. This dress is powerful, and to say the least if not…perfect. Why is it perfect? Look at the angular design matched with the ruffles and silk. Which in return creates softness with a solid shape to the garment. If one were not careful, you would think a statue of the roman goddess Athena just came to life and walked herself onto the runway! This is one of the best garments I have seen in many years. Just superb.

Versace dominates the runway

Since Donatella became the house hold name of Versace. She hasn’t done that bad a job with her collections. This dress is beautiful. Has clean lines with a peachy color. More structured than we’ve seen before, but most certainly beautiful enough to mention!

Stella casts a hue of blue

Oh Stella you are a clever designer. We love you for your natural usage of form, flower blues, and dreamy materials one can just melt into. I love this piece.

Marchesa turns on the soft green

Marchesa meets Jane Austin?. A little too ‘Pride & Prejudice’ for you? Well this dress is very gregorian in nature, with a modern touch. We can’t help but search to the past to describe some of these designs. But hence here we are quoting Jane herself. Long and beautiful with encrusted gems of gold inlaid to the sholders, belt, and hem. You can’t go wrong with this dress. I’m quite sure Jane Austin would of loved it too.

Continuing in the vein of our Brit week, aka our Jeeves of London giveaway and Look like a Brit. I thought it would be fun to do a review on punk brit brand Burberry. I say that because have you seen the opening to their web site? We are immediately blown away with teeny bopping models, dressed in some of the best couture, bouncing to punk rock music. I must admit, I wasn’t too keen on the opening. But once we get past the gaunt models, and ear piercing music. Wow, what great fashion we are looking at here…

Burberry hot off the runway

Great colors, and cuts invite us. As well as beautiful dresses and patterns in silver and gold.

The Burberry Prorsum collection

The Burberry Prorsum collection just makes me weak at the knees with envy. I just love this collection. Everything is delightful to look at. And the coats and dresses are just darling. I just love this outfit in colbalt blue.

This dark grey double breasted trench, with silk gauze ruching all over. Is one of my favorites. Just look at the elegant design. The shoulders are softly rounded with the collar. The self fabric belt and belted cuffs with patent leather buckles. Are just pure sublime.

Pure Burberry chic. This silk fitted 43″ dress is made of two layers of transparent silk. The softly v-shaped scooped neckline, is accented with a hand-sewn frilled edging.

But one cannot be without the classic Burberry bag and scarf.
