Punk Meets High Fashion Thanks to Moda Operandi

By  April 16, 2013

Attending the Met Ball and walking the red carpet alongside celebrities, designers, and Anna Wintour may be just a dream for many. But in the interest of bringing a taste of the punk movement to fashion fans all over, Moda Operandi— one of the sponsors of the star studded Costume Institute’s Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibit —enlisted 12 designers for a collaboration. Just in time for the gala, the online retailer will launch a limited edition punk-inspired capsule collection, that will “offer women the opportunity to capture the spirit of punk with pieces that balance high fashion and rebellion.”

Expect pieces like t-shirts hand-studded with spikes from Eddie Borgo, a chiffon and leather cape by Givenchy and two corseted Vivienne Westwood tartan dresses, among other offerings from designers including Rodarte, House of Waris, Moschino, Prabal Gurung, Thom Brown, Preen, Balmain, Dolce & Gabanna and Ek Thongprasert. The twelve designers are set to contribute either apparel, accessories or objet d’art.

You can purchase the collection when it goes on sale on May 2th!
